Privacy Policy
We collect what an order needs and nothing beyond it. This page says what that is, how long we keep it, and who to write to if you want it removed.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Eyewear Cafe, Individual online retailer (sole proprietorship), at Shop no. 10, Ground, Shringarpure House, New House, Ram Maruti Rd, Naupada, Thane West, Thane, Maharashtra 400602, India is the data fiduciary for personal data collected through eyewearcafe.shop. Contact: [email protected] · +91 96196 44044
2. What we collect
| Identity & contact | Name, delivery address, phone number, email address — collected so a parcel can reach you and so we can answer about it. |
|---|---|
| Order data | Items ordered, amount, order number, delivery status, return and refund records. |
| Payment reference | For UPI, the transaction reference returned by the payment network. For COD, only the fact that cash was collected. |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site working and to detect abuse. |
| Correspondence | Emails you send us and any unboxing video submitted with a damage claim. |
3. What we never collect
We do not collect or store card numbers, CVV codes, card expiry dates, UPI PINs or bank passwords. This site has no card payment form at all, so there is nothing of that kind for us — or for anyone breaching us — to hold. We also do not collect health or eyesight data: we are not an optician and we do not ask for a prescription.
4. Why we process it, and on what basis
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your data for the specified purposes of fulfilling your order, communicating about it, handling returns and refunds, meeting record-keeping obligations, and preventing fraud. The basis is the consent you give when placing an order, together with the legitimate uses recognised by the Act for performing a transaction you requested.
5. Who we share it with
Delivery partners receive your name, address and phone number — they cannot deliver without them. Our payment provider receives the amount and reference needed to complete a UPI transaction. Our hosting provider stores the site and its database. We do not sell personal data, we do not rent mailing lists, and we do not share data with advertising networks for profiling.
6. How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for the period required for tax and commercial record-keeping under Indian law. Unboxing videos submitted for a claim are deleted once the claim is closed and the refund or replacement is complete. Enquiry emails that do not lead to an order are deleted within twelve months.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may ask us for access to your data, ask for a correction, ask for erasure where we no longer need it, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. Write to [email protected] and we will respond Customer service: 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM IST, daily. We may ask you to confirm the order number so that we do not disclose one customer’s data to another.
8. Grievance Officer
In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023, complaints about the handling of personal data may be addressed to our Grievance Officer:

9. Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart contents between pages and to remember basic preferences. Blocking them in your browser is possible; the cart will stop remembering what you added. We do not run advertising retargeting pixels.
10. Security, breaches and defective goods
Data moves over an encrypted connection and access to the order database is limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires. Separately, please note that a defective or damaged item is handled as a replacement or refund under our Return & Refund Policy — we do not operate a warranty claims process.
11. Changes
Updates to this policy are published on this page. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
